Lecturer uses Google Earth Engine to teach climate change

With permission from the lecturer, this is an excerpt taken directly from his blog:

“The time-lapse imagery generated clearly showed the effect of climate change on Lake Urmia.

I showed this video in an environmental resource workshop, and the participants’ face lit up.
All of them were eager to try out this new tool, to be global explorers and locate the effect of climate change on the environment. A planned 30 mins introductory activity stretched to a 2-hour lesson on sharing and discussing the effect of climate change on our planet. The desirable outcome to get the participants to be aware of the consequence of climate change was successfully achieved.”
